Writing a lot of poetry. Here’s one.

Chaos

Picture of a happy life:

wife, two kids, suburban or village home.

TV, station wagon, enough money

For vacation, movies and eating out.

Kids grow up, college, jobs,

Marry and have children of their own.

Visit for Thanksgiving and Christmas,

Family reunions.

No divorce or illness. A smooth retirement.

Dying of old age in one’s sleep.

Order and control.

No lost jobs, fires, cancer, kids on drugs,

a parent drinking too much,

Alzheimer’s, accidents/ injuries.

Nobody flunks out of school

Gets arrested or disappears.

No crime victims, no crime.

No depression, obesity, obsessions,

gambling, wheelchairs, anxiety attacks,

schizophrenia or autism.  No domestic

violence or child abuse.

Everyone has a happy sex life

that no one mentions,

There is money in the bank,

Mortgages paid,

Adequate funds for retirement.

No one gets conned or swindled.

There are no recessions or Great Depressions.

In other words, nothing happens

and everyone dies of boredom.

Finished.
