I am reading a book entitled Zen Sex by Philip Toshio Sudo.
Sudo says that another way of seeing Zen is to allow oneself to be fully absorbed in life unfolding in front of you.
The gift of depression is that the mind turns off and one is “stuck” in the present. I have always noticed that at the depth of the depression, the world becomes very beautiful: the bridges, the street lamps, the sun’s hazy light lying flat on the city streets, children’s laughing faces.
I am acquiring lines and images for writing the next round of poetry. I hope some of it can also be used in writing the novel but more about that in the next blog post.
