How important is your writing to you?

I found to my amazement how important my poetry and novels are to me.  I wasn’t sure because I have had trouble finding the time to write these days. I wonder is it writer’s block?  Am I really cut out to be a writer?

It looked like my computer was failing. It wouldn’t take a charge.  So I went to the Apple store and they told me that my computer was too old and it was doubtful I could get a new battery for it, even online, at the Apple Store.  So I phoned batteries plus and voila! a new battery.  But the problem stayed the same.

I went to ask.com and asked anyone if they had any idea of what was going on.  Two people did– but I couldn’t do what they suggested– the computer wouldn’t shut down.

I then took it to another Mac store and the technical guy thought it was another piece that would be completely impossible to obtain anywhere.  So I bought a flash drive and to my surprise the only thing I I hoped I had time for was to get my poems and my novels off the hard drive before the computer died.

So I loaded all the writing– and then the client work onto the flash drive.  Suddenly I noticed that the computer was suddenly charging.

Yesterday a friend said that I might have had too many documents in my computer and it was drawing down more energy than the battery and powercord could deliver.

So today I threw out more files that I no longer needed.  And the power is still 100%.

The point it that if I had been able to get only one thing off that computer it was the poetry, then the novel.  Everything else was way down on the list.  Surprise, I am a writer.
