Alter egos– a way to use a new personality to write more easily, be more prolific

Jurgen Wolff is a writer and consultant that uses his imagination, and I find his writing delightful.  In his book, Focus, Use the Power of Targeted Thinking to Get More Done, is helpful to me because I am exhausted most of the time, and I have ADHD.

On exercise, similar to one offered by Laura Huxley in “You are Not the Target and also in the book The Einstein Factor, is “Try Out an Alter Ego.”

Wolff suggests that he identify that kind of inside character or alter ego would find it easy to write, or plot or develop a character.  We probably have a wild kid inside, or a studious writer, or imaginative dreamer that could handle writing prolifically and joyfully.

For writing poetry, it is a mystic who is possessed by God…

Works for me.  I’d love to hear your experiences with this.
